The SAGER Journey: From One Class to a Growing Movement

What began with one coach and a single morning class has grown into a training community built around calisthenics, gymnastics, and parkour.

The Beginning: October 2021

Every journey starts somewhere. For SAGER, it began in October 2021, when Adham started teaching calisthenics classes at AlAsyawee Taekwondo Center.

At the time, SAGER wasn’t yet an established brand. The classes were a more personal initiative, taking place at his father’s gym and driven by a passion for training and movement.

Adham’s own background played an important role in shaping this journey. Originally a gymnast, he brought experience in body control, technique, coordination, and athletic movement. These foundations would eventually influence the direction of SAGER, as the programme grew beyond calisthenics to include gymnastics and parkour.

In late 2021, an opportunity arose when Quicksand Gym approached Adham about a partnership. On 1 January 2022, SAGER began what we consider its official journey as an established training operation.

Building Something From the Ground Up

The beginning was modest. Adham started teaching morning classes at Quicksand, with sessions on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 7 AM. Sometimes, there was just one person attending.

He coached the classes himself, managing the training, building the schedule, and working to grow the community one session at a time.

As interest grew, so did the programme. More morning classes were introduced, followed by personal training sessions and evening classes. Gradually, what began as a small number of sessions became a full day of training, with classes running from early morning until 9 PM.

Within approximately a year, SAGER had grown to around 100 active subscriptions.

This growth was about more than numbers. It demonstrated that there was room to develop a stronger calisthenics community and create more opportunities for people to train consistently with dedicated coaching.

In January 2022, SAGER expanded to a second location at Circles Gym in Deir Ghbar, marking an early step towards bringing its classes beyond a single facility.

Expanding the Vision: Beyond Calisthenics

SAGER’s vision continued to develop throughout 2022. Rather than focusing exclusively on one discipline, the programme began expanding into other forms of movement that complemented its existing foundations.

In 2022, SAGER expanded its offerings beyond calisthenics by introducing parkour classes at Exir Games, alongside its calisthenics classes. This marked an important milestone, as SAGER became the first to establish a dedicated parkour training area and classes of their kind in Amman.

Parkour brought a new dimension to the programme, giving athletes opportunities to develop agility, coordination, spatial awareness, and creative movement. It also reflected Adham’s wider interest in movement and athletic development.

The introduction of parkour helped establish an important part of SAGER’s identity: a willingness to explore different disciplines and create opportunities for athletes to develop their abilities in new ways.

As SAGER continued to grow, it partnered with additional gyms across Amman, including GX Gym and Vy Gym, expanding its reach and experience through different training environments.

Each partnership contributed to the experience and growth of the programme, allowing SAGER to reach more athletes and continue developing its approach to coaching.

Developing a New Generation of Athletes

As SAGER grew, so did its ambitions for the people it could reach.

One important milestone was introducing calisthenics classes for children. SAGER was the first to offer calisthenics classes for kids, opening the discipline to a younger generation of athletes.

The goal was to create opportunities for children to develop strength, coordination, body control, and confidence through structured training. Calisthenics could be more than a discipline for experienced athletes; it could also be a starting point for younger people discovering movement and building their physical abilities.

This focus on accessibility and progression would continue to influence SAGER’s development as it expanded its range of classes and training locations.

2023–2024: A New Chapter With Legacy

In 2023, SAGER continued to expand its training programs and partnerships, introducing gymnastics classes at The Warrior in the Hummar area in September.

By December, the establishment of Legacy Gym in Abdoun marked an important milestone in SAGER’s development, creating a stronger foundation for its growing community and range of classes.

The following year brought further expansion. In April 2024, SAGER introduced calisthenics classes at MyTribe in the Sweifieh area of Amman. This added another training environment through which athletes could access structured calisthenics coaching.

In October 2024, the programme expanded further to include gymnastics alongside calisthenics at Round 2 in the Khalda area, bringing two complementary disciplines together under the same training offering.

Gymnastics was a particularly meaningful addition given Adham’s own background in the sport. The expansion reflected how SAGER’s development was connected not only to the demand for classes but also to a wider vision of athletic movement, technical development, and skill progression.

In December 2024, parkour was reintroduced at Legacy, building on SAGER’s earlier introduction of the discipline in 2022. This brought parkour into another training environment and continued the development of SAGER’s multidisciplinary approach.

2025: Reaching More Communities

The expansion continued into 2025, with SAGER partnering with more training facilities and introducing classes to new communities.

In January, calisthenics classes began at Aerial House in Dabouq, while gymnastics classes were introduced at All Courts. Further calisthenics partnerships followed at KickXtreme in February and Magnum Gym in September.

Each partnership brought new opportunities to develop the programme and reach athletes in different training environments. Not every partnership became permanent, but each chapter contributed to SAGER’s experience and helped shape the organisation’s approach to growth.

March 2025 also marked a major milestone: SAGER expanded beyond Jordan for the first time, introducing calisthenics classes at 9Fit in Ramallah, Palestine.

This was an important step in the journey. After building its presence across multiple training facilities in Jordan, SAGER had begun bringing its coaching and training approach to an international audience. It also marked the beginning of a broader ambition to develop more international partnerships, with further expansion opportunities currently in progress.

2026: A New City, New Communities

By 2026, SAGER continued building on the foundations established during its first years.

In May, calisthenics classes returned to MyTribe, continuing the relationship with a familiar training community. In June, SAGER expanded its offerings at BSA in Irbid, introducing both calisthenics and gymnastics classes.

BSA marked one of the most significant milestones in SAGER’s development: its first gym outside Amman and the first calisthenics gym to open in Irbid. This represented a major step towards bringing a dedicated calisthenics training environment to a new city, expanding SAGER’s presence beyond the capital.

That same month, SAGER introduced ladies-only calisthenics classes at SheGlows in the Khalda area, creating a dedicated environment for women to explore the discipline, build strength, and develop their skills.

In September, calisthenics classes were introduced at All Courts, expanding the programme at a facility where SAGER had previously offered gymnastics.

Each development reflected the continued growth of SAGER’s training network and its commitment to making these disciplines available to more people.

More Than a List of Locations

Looking back, SAGER’s journey is about much more than the gyms it has partnered with.

It began with a single coach teaching a small morning class and developed through consistency, new opportunities, and a growing vision for what the programme could become.

Along the way, SAGER expanded into new facilities, introduced calisthenics to younger athletes, developed its gymnastics offering, and established parkour as another important part of its training programme. Its growth has taken it from a single training environment in Amman to partnerships across Jordan and its first international expansion into Palestine.

Some partnerships marked the beginning of a new chapter, while others helped lay the groundwork for what came next. Together, these experiences contributed to the organisation SAGER continues to build today.

The goal remains to keep developing, keep reaching new communities, and create more opportunities for athletes to discover what they can achieve through movement.

With further international expansion in development, the journey is far from over.

From one person in a morning class to a growing community built around multiple disciplines, the story continues.
